Great smock as expected. Material is very durable and should last a long time. The size is a bit tricky. The size guide is kind of confusing as my chest measured 35″ but I’m not a big guy so ordering an xl didn’t seem right. I’m about 5′ 9″ 170 lbs. Luckily I went with a medium just as my go to size for most clothing. These smocks are meant for layering so adding base layers and puffy layers for cold weather. If not planning on layering up to 3 layers get a size down from what you would normally order. I was able to wear it comfortably with a single layer and chest rig on for 12 hrs in temps ranging from 30°f to 70°. Could barely feel the wind if at all. Haven’t had the chance to try it with lower or higher temps yet. With a single layer they feel big but that’s exactly why they have draw cord on the waist. Cinch it up and you’re good. They hang slightly low so it might interfere if you have a large belt kit. Pockets are nicely constructed but lack a D ring for dummy cord. Even a sewn in piece of fabric for a tie off point would be nice. They have a fold at the top that closes when buttoned so essential items don’t fall out. Pockets do have a drainage slit at the bottom of each one. It has a zipper on both sides about halfway down from the armpits and velcro at the bottom to keep the front and back attached and not flapping. I assume this is for ventilation which worked OK. I prefer the armpit vents but at least it has something. The material is 50% cotton so it has some breathe ability. Overall it’s a perfect choice for anyone looking for a survival smock. If you’re looking at the cheaper ones for $150, I’ve had cheaper ones in the past that I liked but the quality and durability of this smock beats them every time. You can buy a $150 smock and it might last a couple years or maybe more if you don’t use it all that much but what if it fails when you need it most. Or you can buy this smock for just a little more that will last through I think years of heavy use and will perform time and time again.
